Motu Proprio

I love the Catholic Mass no matter what approved rite is used. Hoepfully, this Motu Proprio signals a serious, concerted effort to stomp out liturgical abuse like a scorpion at Jen’s house. Read about it here. And enjoy the video….I always did hate Kum-Bah-Ya.

Catholic Carnival #126: Fourth of July Style

Ebeth at A Catholic Mom Climbing the Pillars has posted fireworks for the Fourth of July Catholic Carnival. And I am not just referring to the pictures she used for illustration. Enjoy!

Throwing in the Towel for the Month of July

I’m up to my eyeballs in stress and a major project that must be done by a particular deadline and cannot be done if I am in front of a computer. So I am swearing off my blog for the month of July. So if I post it will be REALLY good because I just HAD to write it and post it and live with the teasing from my real life friends about weak resolutions and all.

I appreciate your prayers for me, if you are so inclined. I have a lot of stuff going on in the background. Some good. Some really bad. All of it stressful.

By the way, this project is so pressing that I am having to swear off almost all reading as well. That is how bad things have gotten. I appreciate your understanding.

On Suffering by Mother Teresa

SUFFERING

I wonder what the world would be like
If there were not innocent people
Making reparation for us all…?
Today the passion of Christ is being relived
In the lives of those who suffer.
To accept that suffering is a gift of God.
Suffering is not a punishment.
God does not punish.
Suffering is a gift- Tho,
Like all gifts,
It depends on how we receive it.
And that is why we need a pure heart-
To see the hand of God,
To feel the hand of God,
To recognize the gift of God
In our suffering.
Suffering is not a punishment.
Jesus does not punish.
Suffering is a sign-
A sign That we have come so close To Jesus on the cross,
That He can kiss us,
Show that He is in love with us,
By giving us an opportunity to share
In His passion.
In our Home for the Dying
It is so beautiful to see
People who are joyful,
People who are lovable,
People who are at peace,
In spite of terrible suffering.
Suffering is not a punishment,
Not a fruit of sin,
It is a gift of God.
He allows us to share in His suffering
And to make up for the sins of the world.
